Our aim

LongSlotToasters.com is built to be usable by as many people as possible, and we work towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.

What we have done

• Measurements are text, not pictures. Every figure in the index is available as readable text in a table as well as in the graphic scale beside it, so nothing depends on being able to see the drawing.
• The measurement graphics carry text alternatives. The slot gauge is drawn as inline SVG with an accessible label giving the same numbers in words.
• Semantic headings in order, landmarks for navigation, and skip-to-content on every page.
• Visible keyboard focus on every interactive element, and the site is operable without a mouse.
• Body text at a comfortable default size that reflows down to a narrow phone, and no text baked into images.
• Colour contrast checked against the AA threshold for body and interface text, and colour is never the only way information is conveyed — availability, for example, is a word as well as a colour.
• prefers-reduced-motion is respected; transitions are removed for readers who ask for that.
• Data tables use proper header cells and scope so screen readers can announce a value with its column.

Known limitations

Advertisements are supplied by third parties and we do not control their markup or their behaviour. Some may not meet the standard we hold our own pages to. Declining non-essential cookies prevents them loading at all.
